Explore Talent: Model Casting, Open Casting and Audition Casting
When an actor is trying to explore talent casting the main thing they want to do is seek out representation, which is a talent agent and/or talent manager. Now there are many agencies and management companies to choose from in Hollywood but you have to make sure that you are matched up with the right fit for you and your specific talents.
In order to proceed in the search to explore talent casting agencies, one must not get clouded with the big-time agencies and management firms because of their client roster and their reputation. Because many newcomers have gotten signed by the top agencies in town and then are left by the waist-side, not having any attention drawn to their careers. Now, that’s not always the case but does happen very often. The safest and smartest way to go about the process of signing with an agent, especially when you are starting out in the entertainment business, is to join a smaller agency or management firm. They might not be the glitz and glamour with their names gracing the front cover of Variety every day, but they are the right people who will invest their focus, time and energy on making sure your career gets off to a great start.
To explore casting with an agent and/or manager is very easy really. Once they know your strong talent points and what kind of acting jobs you want to go after, they will pretty much take the reigns and set up all of your auditions for you, whether they be in film or television or even on the Internet. But, that doesn’t mean you just have to sit back and wait for their calls. You can still do some work on your end to proactively elevate the process by making connections with casting directors and casting agents in town that will remember your face and talents if you make the right impression. You can even ask your new agent or manager to set up a general meeting with said casting director or agent to sit down with you and really explore your talents and personality. And, if you make the right impression, these people will become strong and long-lasting connections that will help your career along at a faster pace than just waiting for the phone to ring with an audition here and there. So, remember, when you want to explore talent casting calls, just work your talents to obtain these valuable connections in this town while your agent or manager works the audition world for you.
